AURÉLIE PONCE

General supervisor at Maison Villeroy and AHL insider Aurélie Ponce provides us the deets on what to do, see and eat about Paris’ Golden Triangle— the space involving avenue Montaigne, avenue des Champs-Elysées and avenue George V.

What is your earliest memory of the 8th arrondissement?
My earliest memory was of an interview for my first internship in a smaller hotel, with my mum waiting around for me in a bar on the Champs Elysees!

How would you explain the 8th arrondissement to anyone which is hardly ever been?
The ideal postcard of Paris— Location de la Concorde, Champs Elysees, La Seine, the Golden Triangle designer stores, and luxurious hotels…

Describe a ideal day in the 8th arrondissement?
Breakfast and a wander with my frenchie Lulu together the Seine, lunch at La Cour jardin in the Plaza Athénée, purchasing in alocation Montaigne and a walk from Condorde to Arc de Triomphe, ending with an aperitif in a tourist spot like chez Francis Put de l’Alma, so cliché but entertaining! Oh, and of course, dinner at Pavyllon, one of the places to eat of Michelin star chef Yannick Alleno in close proximity to the Champs Elysées— which has terrific food and exceptional service!
